Mobile Maintenance Technician I

RESPONSIBILITY LEVEL: With journeyman's supervision, performs repairs and services on electrical and mechanical systems and equipment that supplies the building with heating, ventilation, air conditioning, other environmental systems, and power. Must be available for on-call service twenty-four (24) hours per day. Complete knowledge of all OSHA and safety procedures. Safety training in Must Safety Programs and Safe 2 Work

Duties

  • Assist in repairs and service on mechanical equipment systems and electrical systems in accordance with blueprints, diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, and manufacturer's specifications.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and problem solving for operational problems.
  • Assist with development and implementation of predictive and preventative maintenance programs.
  • Assists in operation of physical facilities equipment; fire tube broilers, hermetic centrifugal chillers, pumps, cooling towers, reciprocating air compressors, emergency generators, and associated equipment.
  • Assists in maintaining operating logs on all equipment; record, correct, and report all faults, deficiencies and other unusual occurrences.
  • Through operating knowledge of building automation system.
  • Assist in troubleshooting pneumatic, electronic, and low-voltage control systems.
  • Assist in performing arc, oxyacetylene, map, and propane welding.
  • Interact with subcontractors in the performance of service on building systems or equipment.
  • Adjust equipment and systems with a view toward conserving energy.
  • Responsible for all water treatment equipment, chemicals, and tests.
  • Respond to all emergency situations, trace, troubleshoot, and make repairs.
  • Perform all duties in a safe manner following all safety procedures and maintain a clean work area.
  • Utilize mechanical, electrical, and electronic devices in the day-to-day performance of operational maintenance tasks. (Test and diagnostic equipment, computer systems, electronic controls, etc.)
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures and adhere to company standards.
  • Must be a team player committed to working in quality environment.
  • Willingly perform other miscellaneous job related duties as requested, including all general building maintenance activities.

SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS: Associates degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering Technology, HVAC Technology, or a related field, or two (2) years equivalent work experience. Must be able to read and work with blueprints. Ability to use a wide variety of hand and power tools. Requires working in confining spaces, on a ladder, lifting equipment over six (6) feet above ground, and physical exertion. Must be able to work as needed including various shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime. Some positions within this classification series are assigned job duties that may require passion of the Commercial Driver's License (CDL) issued by the Secretary of State as required by Public Act 346 of 1988 to operate as designated state vehicle.
